Wildlife in our own backyard

OK, one more post about our possums and then I promise I'll quit talking about them. I've just been so intrigued with them since we discovered them. And yes, I said "them." Last week in the morning, Joseph and I discovered two of them wandering around the backyard. We may have a whole family of them. Then later that same morning, we found one just chilling out on our rug right by the sliding glass door. We just sat and watched him give himself a bath and he didn't seem to mind we were there at all. I'm beginning to like them. Do you think he's cute? He seems cuter to me now. Don't worry, I won't go crazy on you. I will not feed them or try to pet them or anything. But it was fascinating to watch him so closely.

When the kids and I were watching the video Mia said, "aw, that possum is so cute." Dallin just kept saying rat, rat, over and over. I'll have to admit that if it didn't have that nasty tail it would be cuter. You'd be crazy to try and touch it because you would never know how it would react but it would be funny if you could try and scare it with like a broom handle or something and see if it will play dead. I'd like to see a picture of that!

That's pretty cool! We already miss you guys, it was so fun to have you here! I don't know what I'm going to do with Alexis when she asks everyday to go to Grandma's house to play with Jill & Pa (Joseph)! :)

Nope, still not cute. I'm sorry. But I bet Joseph thinks he is pretty cool. I just keep thinking about the millions of diseases that thing is carrying around with him. Maybe that's the Steve rubbing off on me...but it's something to think about...

Oh, and I think it's so funny that Alexis calls Joseph Pa...LOL!

Well, he could be cute without the tail and I think it is way cool that Joseph gets to watch him but I'd be encouraging them to move on. We have had some huge really ugly ones here. Do you want to borrow Dad's live trap? Then you could just take him to a new home:)

Glad you had fun in Utah and would love to hear about your trip.
Miss you all! Justin looks so big sitting up in the tub:)

I don't think he's giving himself a bath. I think he's eating, and anyone or anything that eats earwax is just gross--cute or not cute:)

Yea, you should go visit Katie...doesn't she live in Las Vegas? You should definitely go see her.
